Childhood Immunisations

We deliver a full range of childhood immunisations.

Our clinics usually run on a Monday afternoon.

Vaccinations and Immunisations

Our nurses and HCA’s provide vaccinations and immunisations throughout the year.

These include:

  • Influenza (Flu) vaccinations – usually these begin around September and are available to the groups that the NHS authorises us to vaccinate:
    • those aged over 65
    • pregnant women
    • those who’s circumstances make them more vulnerable
  • Pneumococcal vaccination – this is a one off (for the majority of patients) vaccination for patients aged over 65
  • Shingles Vaccination –  this is a one off vaccination for patients aged between 70 and 79
    • it is not available to anyone aged 80 or over on the NHS because it seems to be less effective in this age group

Non-NHS services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

  • Accident/sickness insurance certificates and reports
  • Certain travel vaccinations
  • School fee and holiday insurance certificates
  • Fitness to travel e.g. charity work abroad
  • Private medical insurance reports
  • Reports for health clubs to certify that patients are fit to exercise
  • Reports for ‘fitness to start a diet regime.’
  • Medicals for HGV/Taxi/PSV
  • Elderly Driver Medicals
  • Holiday Cancellation forms
  • Shotgun Certificate Verification
  • Driving Licence Forms

Please do not book an appointment for a private consultation without first discussing with our reception team.

NHS Health checks

We hold clinics at both our Snettisham and Heacham sites. We provide a free Health check every 5 years if you are aged between the ages of 40 and 74 and do not already have a pre-existing condition.

It is designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.

The check is available for patients aged between 40 and 74 who do not have any of the following pre-existing conditions:

  • Heart disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure (hypertension)
  • Atrial Fibrillation
  • Transient Ischaemic Attack
  • Inherited high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia
  • Heart Failure
  • Peripheral Arterial Disease
  • Stroke
  • Currently being prescribed statins to lower cholesterol
  • Previous checks have found that you have a 20% or higher risk of getting cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years

If you have any of the above conditions, we are already aware of you and will be inviting you to attend for check ups.

Dressings and Wound Care

We hold clinics at both our Snettisham and Heacham sites.

Our nursing team assess and treat wounds and leg ulcers as well as removing sutures and clips after operations.

Please call to arrange your suture or clip removal as soon as you are discharged from hospital to allow us to book an appropriate appointment for you.

Blood Tests (Phlebotomy)

We hold clinics at both our Snettisham and Heacham sites.

Your GP or nurse may ask that you attend for a blood test for a number of reasons, such as:

  • to ensure that your medication is still correct for you
  • to ensure that your medication is working
  • to aid the diagnosis of particular illnesses etc

Attending for blood tests when required is important to keep you safe, as some medications require ongoing monitoring. If you don’t attend for blood tests required for monitoring your medication, your GP may have to review if continuing your medication is appropriate.
